Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the violin?

4/4 – for ages 11–12 and adults (arm length 58 cm or more); 3/4 (340 mm) – for ages 9–11.

Is the violin ready to play?

The bridge must be installed and the strings tuned—a tuner is included in the set; it is recommended to have a teacher assist you the first time.

Why a hygrometer in a case?

A wooden instrument needs 40–60% humidity—in the winter, when the heat is on, the air is dry and the violin can crack.
