For electrical panels, radiators, and cars, a resolution of 160×120–256×192 is sufficient; for building energy audits and large equipment viewed from a distance, a resolution of 320×240 or 384×288 is recommended. TISR super-resolution improves the image but does not replace the physical sensor.

What is a refresh rate of 25 Hz?

The image is refreshed 25 times per second—a smooth, flowing view in motion; 9-Hz cameras lag and are only suitable for static measurements.

Can a thermal camera see through a wall?

No—it shows the surface temperature of the wall, but you can use that information to locate hot pipes, thermal bridges, moisture, and gaps in the insulation behind the wall.
